Philippians 2:5-8 NLT
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You, inspired by the humility and selflessness of Christ Jesus, who, though divine, chose to live among us as a servant. We ask that You cultivate in us the same attitude, that we in Shelby County might embody His spirit of service and compassion in our daily lives and community interactions.
Guide us, Lord, to lead with humility, to serve without seeking return, and to love without conditions. Let our leaders and citizens alike embrace the example of Jesus, prioritizing the welfare of others and fostering a community where every person is valued and cared for.
Empower us to live with integrity and obedience, aligning our actions with Your will. May our community be strengthened by ethical conduct and decisions that reflect Your justice and righteousness. Help us to support one another in our struggles, sharing our burdens and celebrating our joys as one body in Christ.
We pray for the prosperity of Shelby County, not only in material wealth but in kindness, generosity, and unity. May Your presence be our guide and comfort, reminding us that You understand our challenges and are with us through every circumstance.
Lead us, Father, in paths that bring honor to Your name and blessings to our people.
We offer this prayer in the holy name of Christ Jesus.
Amen.
