Galatians 5:13-14 ESV
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Heavenly Father,
We praise You for Your immense love and the freedom You have granted us through Christ. You call us to live freely, not for ourselves, but in loving service to one another. Today, we lift up Shelby County, Tennessee, seeking Your guidance and grace to live out this divine freedom in a way that enriches our community.
Guide us, Lord, to use our liberty as an opportunity to serve rather than an occasion for self-indulgence. Help us to embody the love You have shown us by caring for one another, supporting each other’s burdens, and fostering a community where every individual is valued and loved.
We ask that You strengthen our resolve to act justly and to love mercy. May our actions reflect Your command to love our neighbors as ourselves. Encourage us, Father, to see each other through Your eyes—without bias or judgment but with compassion and empathy.
Empower our community leaders with the wisdom to make decisions that promote peace and prosperity for all. Inspire all residents of Shelby County to engage in acts of kindness and service, building up our community as a beacon of Your love and mercy.
We place our hopes and efforts for Shelby County under Your care, trusting that You will continue to lead us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Keep us united in purpose and steadfast in love, as we seek to glorify You in all that we do.
We offer this prayer in the powerful and loving name of Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Amen.
